Library site for tweens
Palle's Gift Shop is the public libraries' joint web universe aimed at 8-12 year-olds and young people. The website is run by a consortium consisting of the six central libraries, Copenhagen's Libraries, Aarhus Municipality's Libraries and DBC. Vejle Libraries are at the centre of the day-to-day management of the extensive organisation of library managers, editorial members, consultants and users. Six specialist editorial teams and five theme editorial teams are associated with the site, as are a whole string of collaboration partners.
The specialist editorial teams work on communication of music, books, films, games, the internet and mobile devices. The theme editorial teams produce content for a number of changing themes that run for 2-3 months.
The libraries will handle development of the site up to the end of 2013. If the plans for the Danish Digital Library are realised within this timeframe, this will probably have a certain impact on the current organisation of Palle's Gift Shop. The site will definitely become a platform for gathering the experience that will be necessary in order to implement the Digital Library.

The name of the site is www.pallesgavebod.dk (Palle’s gift shop – a Danish figure of speech for everything being free of charge).
The name is an ironic comment on the point that the children’s libraries with this site offer an enormous amount of experiences – for free.
