The modern

Denmark and Russia have a long and rich history of cultural co-operation in classical art and culture, including ballet and literature. There is great potential for extending this intercultural dialogue into new fields such as architecture, contemporary art and museums. This programme aims to help realise this potential by facilitating cultural exchange between the vibrant modern cultural and artistic scenes of the two countries.

The 13th of July, 2018 Danish key-note speakers participated in a public seminar on future research in connection to the GARAGE museum's 100-year anniversary.

The book Utzons Univers (Utzon’s Universe) is being translated into Russian to mark the centenary of the birth of Jørn Utzon. Publication is scheduled to coincide with the Moscow International Book Fair in November 2018.

The 28th - 29th November 2018, a number of Danish key-note speakers and artists will participate in the PERMM Museum of Contemporary Arts exhibition "A new State of living" in Perm.

In the field of modern art, a key goal is to forge closer links with The GARAGE Museum in Moscow and the National Centre for Contemporary Arts in Nizhny Novgorod.
