Events and Projects
The Germany 2018–2020 programme consists of a wide range of projects on four main themes. Details of the individual projects will be published as they become available.
Each theme is designed to focus broadly on the many different partners involved in the programme in Denmark and Germany.
In 2018, the main focus is on using partnerships and projects to forge strong links between cultural heritage organisations in the two countries.
For 2018–2020, the focus will be on projects that establish strong new artistic platforms in the German Länder and complement the good relationships that the Danish art scene has traditionally enjoyed with our neighbours, particularly in North Germany.
Other priorities for 2018–2020 will be projects that promote Denmark as a destination for cultural tourists from Germany, as well as cultural export projects illustrating that Germany is Denmark’s biggest single market – including for art and culture.
In 2018, the two countries will sign an agreement to arrange a Danish/German year of cultural friendship in 2020. As far as Denmark is concerned, the year of friendship will serve as the culmination of the three-year programme and it will be closely coordinated with the many parallel projects celebrating the centenary of the reunification of Denmark in 2020.
