Funds for International Cultural Exchange

The steering committee between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture manages two funds for international cultural exchange.

The steering committee is a board established as an extension of the agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture about Denmark’s international cultural exchange. The aim of the cooperation is to promote Denmark’s cultural exchange abroad and contribute to the development of Danish arts and culture. The steering committee between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture manages two funds for international cultural exchange. The funds are distributed based on the principles and aims in the International Cultural Panel’s strategy.

The Fund under the agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture about Denmark’s international cultural exchange

This fund can be applied to by the institutions working under the agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, to cover expenses for a cultural project.  Please note that the evaluation of applications of fewer than 100.000 DKK is continuous. Answers sent within four weeks after receiving the application.

Applications for more than 100.000 DKK must be applied for four weeks prior to a steering committee meeting. Meetings are held four times annually. You will receive an answer within twelve weeks after the deadline. We therefore strongly recommend that you set aside enough time for us to evaluate your project.

The Fund of disposable funds for Danish Embassies and Institutes

The Fund is distributed annually in January and can be applied to by the Danish embassies and consulates abroad. The Danish Institute in Athens, the Danish institute in Rome and the Danish Cultural institutes. The consulates must apply through the embassy in their country of operation.

The applicant must present the expected activities for the year and the estimate for unforeseen expenditures. By applying for disposable funds it is possible to secure that your embassy or institute has sufficient resources to cover cultural projects if the timeframe or budget changes.

The International Cultural Panel

The International Cultural Panel, established in 2010, is a committed forum for cooperation comprised of the Danish Ministry for Culture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs as well as other Institutes under the Danish state. The ICP action plan aims to contribute to, and develop, Danish arts and culture.
