Egyptian cultural editors in Copenhagen

This week five Egyptian cultural editors are visiting Copenhagen. The Danish Agency for Culture is hosting and arranging the press trip in close collaboration with the Danish-Egyptian Dialogue Institute (DEDI) in Cairo.

The journalists will experience and hear about how we in Denmark work with art and culture in the public space. Therefore, they will be visiting Superkilen (the Super Wedge), Gehl Architects and the Danish Architecture Centre. The stay also includes visits to a number of big Danish cultural institutions, e.g. the Royal Danish Theatre and the National Gallery of Denmark.

Furthermore, the journalists will participate in the Images Festival – both as audience and active participant. They will be present on Friday 30 August at 5 pm, when Sanduq El-Dunia (the Egyptian equivalent to the Museum of Copenhagen’s WALL) is opening at Dronning Louises Bro in Copenhagen. Moreover, they are taking part in a debate about “The Culture Scene in Egypt: Before and after the 25th of January”. The debate takes place on Sunday 1 September at 5 pm.

The journalists write for several of the biggest Egyptian and Arabian newspapers and media.
