Open Libraries

The concept ‘open libraries’ is used to stress that the new library concept prepares the ground for libraries to increase the degree of accessibility in future, working more systematically to ensure that the library is an offer directed at the entire population. This includes long opening hours, preferably with differentiated service, as well as an inviting interior design of the library space. This recommendation also aims at preserving the library as a haven, while at the same time it works with the objective of appealing to more target groups than it does currently with differentiated offers and a wider array of services.
