Purpose of the program

The Danish Arts Foundation’s Committee for Literary Project Funding wants to promote literature and the dissemination of Danish literature abroad. Therefore, the committee offers support for projects that have significance for disseminating knowledge about Danish literature abroad.

Examples of objectives and activities: Events abroad intended to disseminate knowledge about Danish literature, public reading events, publications, literary festivals and similar events.

How your application will be evaluated?

In the evaluation, the committee will give priority to the following:

  • Professional organisers of literary events
  • Events involving work that has been translated and is available in the market are given priority, but this is not a requirement
  • An evaluation of the authorship’s significance to a foreign audience
  • A total evaluation of the significance of the project regarding the dissemination of Danish literature abroad, taking both the quality and the scope of the project into account
  • Alternative and innovative ideas
  • Projects for which considerations regarding the target group are clear
  • Projects that have been prepared sufficiently to have reached a stage at which possibilities for agreements with the participants have been explored

The evaluation will also include an estimate of which projects have the greatest significance for disseminating knowledge about Danish literature abroad, and which events ensure spreading of the support. Applications are not accepted for support to ordinary readings abroad; see the Literary Exchange Fund instead.
