Public Service-media

The Danish public service media are either financed mainly by license fees (DR, The regional TV 2 stations and Radio24syv) or by a combination of commercials and subscription fees (TV 2).

Regardless the financing, the public service media each have a public service contract (DR, The regional TV 2 stations) or a public service license (TV 2, Radio24syv) with a number of public service obligations to fulfil. These contracts/licenses vary widely as to the level of detail and number of public service-obligations.

The Danish Radio and TV Board controls annually if the public service media complies with their contracts and licenses.
