New proposals
UNESCO encourages States Parties to the Convention to nominate sites within their national territory for inclusion on the World Heritage List.
The Danish Agency for Culture submits proposals for sites in Denmark and Greenland for inclusion on the World Heritage List.
In 2009, Denmark proposed these sites for inscription on the World Heritage List:
- 1000 years of agriculture in The Arctic, Southern Greenland (culture)
- Aasivissuit and Arnagarnup Qoorua, Greenlandic inland and coastal hunting area (culture)
- Amalienborg Castle and its districts (culture)
- Moler landscapes of the Liim Fjords, Northern Mors (nature)
- The Trelleborg fortresses (culture/transnational)
